What is the Two Rivers Environmental Advisory Board?
- The board was formed in the 1970's with an emphasis on the promotion & planting of trees. In addition to championing their importance, we now address clean water issues as well.
- The City's stormwater management program includes:
- Designing & building stormwater ponds to reduce sediment and phosphorus
- Incorporating green infrastructure when possible to help restore shorelines and create vegetative filtration buffers for stormwater runoff
- AND public education
- This is where the Environmental Advisory Board comes in. Our Winter Educational Series offers programs on:
- the health of our local ecosystem
- the negative effects of stormwater runoff, and what the average citizen can do at home to proactively combat the problem
- reducing carbon emissions & the future of clean power
- Installing pollinator gardens, flowering bee lawns, and prairie plantings
