Youth Reference Associate

Location: Lester Public Library, Two Rivers, WI
Position Type: Part-time (25 hours/week)
Salary: $16.52/hour; pro-rated PTO; WI Retirement System

The Two Rivers Public Library is seeking a Youth Reference Associate to help provide exceptional library services and programs for children and young adults. In this varied and rewarding role, you will work both within the library and at offsite community locations to create meaningful connections and promote a love of reading and learning among youth. Seeking a creative and innovative individual who is dedicated to supporting the growth and success of children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver youth programming in collaboration with the Youth Services Coordinator.
• Build relationships with schools, community groups, and local agencies.
• Create library displays and lead group tours.
• Assist patrons with reference inquiries, reader’s advisory, and technology use.
• Staff the help desk and provide general customer service.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of youth literature and library services.
• Strong communication skills and experience engaging with children and families.
• Ability to assist with digital resources and public technology.
• Prior library or customer service experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree from a college or university—youth focused highly desirable.
