What is the Two Rivers Environmental Advisory Board?

  • The board was formed in the 1970's with an emphasis on the promotion & planting of trees. In addition to championing their importance, we now address clean water issues as well.
  • The City's stormwater management program includes:
    • Designing & building stormwater ponds to reduce sediment and phosphorus
    • Incorporating green infrastructure when possible to help restore shorelines and create vegetative filtration buffers for stormwater runoff
    • AND public education
  • This is where the Environmental Advisory Board comes in. Our Winter Educational Series offers programs on:
    • the health of our local ecosystem
    • the negative effects of stormwater runoff, and what the average citizen can do at home to proactively combat the problem
    • reducing carbon emissions & the future of clean power
    • Installing pollinator gardens, flowering bee lawns, and prairie plantings
